As a textile designer/artist and costume and prop maker over the last 30 years Catherine Taylor-Burge had always been aware of textile waste and over this time gathered a vast knowledge of materials and there impact on our planet. Using natural fabric from sustainable sources where possible and recycle any other fabrics.
Catherine has been making wax wraps since 2015 where she ran school and adult workshops sharing and educating her knowledge gathered of the damage of plastic wrap and then started Natural Storage Co in 2017.
She uses a mixture of beautiful printed cotton and linen fabrics as well as our hand dyed/painted and screen printed designs to make a range of Wax Food Wraps/bags using beeswax sourced only from small, local apiarists.
Her business aims to be zero waste in its production and produces a number of complimentary products from the scraps including her popular fire lighters. Larger fabric off cuts go towards making bread/produce bags top panels and ties, as well as other household products.
Over the last two years her 3 layer face-mask design with a PPE layer have been very popular for people looking for a well fitting design with now over 7000 made.

Also working closely with St. Pats she designs and produces a number of up-cycled useful products that use discarded materials including dish cloths, pads, cutlery wraps and lunch bags from used shopping bags.
We also make pre-mixed beeswax blocks and DIY kits and run a number of workshops for kids and adults.

She has also recently used her skills to create some up- cycled sculptures for the most recent exhibition with local indigenous artist Tyrone Wangana called ‘Hundreds and Thousands’ at the FAC during the Nov-Jan 2021-22 school holidays.
