Every home needs a Gnome.

My gnomes are soft decorative gnomes made from recycled materials, mainly jumpers, scarfs and kids clothing. You will find a large number of Christmas gnomes but also colours and design that will suit any home. Gnomes are known by many names but in Sweden, which is where I’m from, they are called Tomte or Tomtar if there are many.

Tomtar are a big part of the old Swedish folklore. It was believed that a tomte lived in your house and took care of the folks, the house and the animals. Usually he is portrayed as a grumpy little character but he is only grumpy if not treated well. If treated poorly, he will make sure that the cows don't have any milk or the chickens don't lay eggs whereas if treated well he will make sure that the household flourishes. How do you treat him well? Leave out a bowl of porridge at Christmas time and a few treats here and there, never speak poorly of him and be a hardworker and take care of your farm.

All my Gnomes are handmade by me and are unique since once a jumper is finished I can't make any more. They have their own quirky personalities and a Swedish name, yes I name them all. No two Gnomes have the same name or looks and they are all looking forward to moving into your house to look after you.
