Molly Frances Jewellery Design

My name is Molly. I am 22 and a Jewellery Designer and Silversmith.
I am part of a collective studio space called the Wayward Jewellers at the Old Customs Building in Fremantle. Our group of 5 formed our collective after graduating the Advance Diploma of Jewellery Design in 2017.
I feel my experiences growing up, moving from one country town to another around Australia (including living on a remote indigenous community when I was 9-10 years old), is expressed in a large part of my creativity and jewellery design style and the inspirations I have and continue to drawn upon.

My Artist Statement:
I am inspired by natural forms and celtic design. I create contemporary jewellery pieces which reflect the birth, growth and blossoming of living things and beings. I believe in our ability to always become stronger, more resilient, to build bigger and better boundaries and expand our limits; in the case jewellery and ourselves. I have an increasing interest in asymmetrical, radial and geometrical designs. I love to challenge myself and often I end up making a piece more detailed and more in-depth then I started it out to be. I enjoy hand sawing patterns that are open to infinite adaption and interpretation. I am in love with colour and contrast and enjoy incorporating, depth, texture, stones and non-metal materials including resin. I aim to make loveable, bright and eye popping pieces.
