Hello, my name is Kai and I’m the founder of Pool Buoys, a dessert business I launched in February 2025. What originally began as a university project quickly grew into something I became truly passionate about. Inspired by my love for desserts and my desire to bring joy to others, Pool Buoys combines two things that have shaped much of my life: water and community. Having been a swimmer for over half my life and now working as a lifeguard, I’ve always felt connected to water - so it felt natural to create a brand that celebrates it.

With a background in graphic design, I’ve created all of Pool Buoys’ branding and visual identity myself. My aim has been to design a brand that feels welcoming and fun for all ages, especially families, while creating a space where people can come together and enjoy refreshing treats.

Beyond desserts, my vision for Pool Buoys is to grow into a social enterprise. Even as I’m just starting out, reinvesting most of my resources back into the business, I am committed to giving back. A portion of profits will go toward supporting charities connected to water and community, including Swim for Refugees, Surf Life Saving, and the Australian Marine Conservation Society. In my vision, Pool Buoys is more than just a dessert business - it’s about sharing joy, building community, and making a positive impact.
