Perth Photo Prints

The seeds of my photography fascination were sown during my childhood when our family acquired a box-brownie camera. The sheer wonder of framing an image through the viewfinder, the click of a button, and the anticipation of that exact scene materializing on paper some weeks later were exhilarating concepts to me.

Through the years that followed, I had little opportunity to express myself through a lens, until 2014 when everything changed; and I purchased my very first DSLR camera. The excitement that had thrilled me in my youth was rekindled—a renewed passion for photography ignited within me. With newfound aspirations, I aimed to carve a niche as an exceptional landscape photographer, aspiring to transform this passion into a lifelong career.

Yet, my photographic skills were modest at best, and my practice time was limited.

Yet, I resolved not to surrender. The art of digital photography, the creation of extraordinary visual art—it was a craft that I was determined to master. My commitment to this pursuit was unwavering; my ambition was to live out my dream.

So I embarked on a journey, seeking out captivating locations to photograph. Countless road trips led me southward with camera in hand. I have braved the bitter dark cold in front of pounding seas to capture the Milky Way gracing Sugarloaf Rock. I have spent wonderful moments in the Boranup Forrest, where I was surprised and overjoyed at the incredible chorus of birdlife; and I especially loved listening to the cackling kookaburras. And there were many instances of long drives to iconic destinations, only to return home with empty hands, no epic photos, and much disappointment.

Even as I chased my dreams, life's demands sought to distract me. Soon, I was wed to my beloved, and not long after, our first child arrived. Time seemed to warp as our second child joined us 2.5 years later. The busyness I thought I knew before parenthood paled in comparison. Work demands increased, and then, the world was gripped by the upheaval of Covid-19. My camera lay dormant, trapped in its bag, as photography life merely treading water.

Then, amid the lockdowns, a glimmer of hope emerged—we were granted permission to explore our home state. On a brief family escape, I seized the chance and captured three sunrise marvels. Elation coursed through me as I was back behind the lens. And then, another opening presented itself a month later. Over time, these opportunities multiplied, the gaps between them shrinking.

Today, my passion burns brighter than ever. My aspiration is clear: to photograph the most loved and familiar places that you have seen on postcards and on Instagram and capture them with photography in a way that you have never seen before!

I am thrilled that you have become part of this unfolding tale and I extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join me on this extraordinary journey.
