Komal and Kunj have been involved in the food industry since 2015 when they started their first food truck, The Wooden Box. They were approached by the previous owner of The Juicist to buy the business. At first, they were hesitant, but they saw something special in The Juicist. In 2019 they took over the business and grew from having only 12 wholesale clients and no online shoppers, to being stocked in over 50 cafes all over WA and having online shopping deliveries going out twice a week. Since 2019 they have also gained a loyal and amazing following at events!

All their produce is local! All the veggies get washed, and the fruit is thoroughly checked. Their cold press machine weighs over 300kgs! That’s why at Markets all of their juices are already pressed. Their machine cuts the fruit and veggies, and by using a hydraulic press, a force of 15 tonnes is applied to the fruit and veggies. All that gold goodness is squeezed out. Now that is a real cold press machine! Their juices are then bottled and delivered to you! It doesn’t end there, empty bottles are collected, washed and sanitised to give them another life.

The Juicist is their full-time job! Running and owning a small business means you work 24/7! They are a husband and wife duo waking up at 4am every morning to head to the warehouse and going to bed at 1am every night finishing off paperwork. They are the production team, stock managers, HR managers, social media managers, accountants, sales representatives, and the customer service team! It was always their dream to run a successful business, and they have certainly succeeded.

Time has always been their biggest challenge – there is never enough hours in the day to do everything they want to do. In the future, they are aiming to stay as one of Perth’s best cold pressed juice businesses.
