Their business was born from the love of buying soaps and candles, all the time. Zahlia and Callum bought candles and soaps for themselves, family, and friends as gifts. They thought it was a great idea to start a business making and selling soaps. They love the creative side of thinking up new designs and products.

They source all their ingredients from local businesses, so they know where everything is coming from. They pride themselves in ensuring that their products are made sustainably and what’s more, nearly all their products are vegan. Zahlia and Callum personally make all their products by hand to ensure that they are lovely and perfect for everyone to purchase.

Bubble Rose is a side project right now, but they have dreams of expanding and working on their business full-time. Zahlia and Callum both love making their products, it truly is as they say, love what you do and it doesn’t feel like work. It is a great way for them to get away from their day-to-day. They can just focus on something fun and exciting. As they are both studying full-time at university, it is important to have those breaks.

One of their biggest challenges has been bringing their ideas to life. They have so many ideas for wonderful products but only limited time and resources. They must decide which products people will love most. It is always challenging to work out what your audience will love and sometimes what they themselves love isn't the biggest hit with buyers.

Their goal for the future of Bubble Rose, is to gain a loyal following of people who love their products. Ultimately it would be amazing to have a chance to show off their myriad of ideas and have customers respond positively. In the short term, it would be amazing for Bubble Rose to gain over 200 followers on Instagram, and then potentially to start up a TikTok or YouTube channel.

Zahlia and Callum both told us that they feel that Perth Makers Market is a lovely market that accommodates all levels of market stallholders. As Bubble Rose is only new, it was amazing to realise that PMM supports those businesses just starting up. It was also lovely to see how PMM supports students who pursue small businesses.
