Hi, my name is Lorraine. My creative interests are varied and have included, over many years, gold and silver smithing (jewellery), painting, pottery, mosaics, quilting, glass lead lighting and, currently, fused and slumped glass ware, pastel painting and pen and ink drawings.
ART AND CRAFT AWARDS: *Diploma in Art Studies 1978
*City of Stirling Craft Award for silver and gold jewellery each year 1978-1982
*TV Channel 7 Award Young Jeweller of the Year 1979.
*National Craft Acquisition Award 1983 (Northern Territory Museum of Arts and Sciences)
*Master of Watercolour certificate (Art Tutor.com)
Colour, shape, texture and diverse ideas are an important component of my designs. I love the unique flora and fauna of Australia, particularly WA , which I represent in my work. Currently, my main area of interest is fused and slumped glass ware (bowls, platters, coasters, small plates etc), pastel paintings and pen and ink drawings which I think make great gifts, as well as being functional. My designs are all original and hand made, you won't see them anywhere else.
I am now in my senior years, and hope to have many creative years ahead.
